Family Tracks

As time is rolling by and as I have been preparing for my classes, with miles of reading before I sleep and miles of reading before I sleep! I have been stopping from time to time to check this very blog. Seeing that there have been a few more readers than I ever thought, I thought I would write another entry.

This week I have been learning a lot about families any why people do the things that they do. I believe that it has a lot to do with the family that you grew up in. Just thinking about that brings a lot of memories to mind from my life. I can relate to them and see my life now to why I am wired the way that I am wired. I can not say that I was enmeshed with my family. Yes, I was with my family most of my growing up, but my parents allowed me to think for myself. I don't know how they did it, but they did. They allowed me so much freedom. I believe that I drove my family crazy with all of the stunts that I pulled in my life. But I am thankful that they gave me the freedom to find out things on my own. It took a lot of courage for my parents to do that. For that I am grateful. As for my brother??? Well, he is an accountant. He listened to my parents and did what he was told to do. On the other hand, I did quite the opposite. I needed my space and wanted to explore life to see all that it had. I dared to be myself and here I am today. Praise the Lord!

But today, what do I know? Not more that anyone else. I have traveled the country. Made many mistakes in my decisions. I am glad that I was not found in a ditch somewhere in my travels. How could my parents let me go? I don't know. It must have been hard for them to watch me make my mistakes. Praise Jesus that I am not dead.

My family tells me a lot about why I am the way that I am. I pray that I learn more about my family in the future. What does your family look like? Why are you they way that you are? I find things every interesting.
